German police arrest Syrian doctor for crimes against humanity

Federal prosecutors have arrested a Syrian doctor working in Germany for crimes against humanity. He is suspected of beating an epileptic prisoner while working for the Syrian military intelligence agency.

German federal prosecutors arrested a Syrian doctor for suspected crimes against humanity and grievous bodily harm, they announced on Monday.

The case is an expansion of Germany's legal campaign against the alleged enforcers of Bashar Assad's tyrannical suppression of human rights.

German politician urges Syrian refugees to report 'war criminals' to hold them accountable

A member of the German Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state parliament and Commissioner for Immigration and Integration Affairs, has called on Syrian refugees to report and expose the regime’s war criminals who found their way into Germany among the ranks of refugees.

Dr. Ibrahim Al-Najjar urges anyone who possesses any information, photographs, videos or evidence that confirm their involvement in militias, torture, killings, or enforced disappearances, to inform the German authorities.

German Foreign Office: Syria Unsafe for Refugees

The German Federal Foreign Office said Syria remains an unsafe place for refugees due to the crackdowns perpetrated by the incumbent regime and its affiliated militias.

In a Thursday statement, the German Foreign Office said the security turmoil in Syria poses serious threats to the lives of refugees, citing violations committed by pro-government militias at checkpoints set upacross the country, and the uncontrolled circulation of weapons deployed “mercilessly” by these militias and intelligence officers against people in Syria.

Kurds in Germany protest against Tehran regime, Assad in solidarity with Mahabad

Kurds in Germany gathered at different rallies in the German capital Berlin Saturday in solidarity with Kurdish protests in Iran that were triggered by the unexplained death of a hotel chambermaid.

Dozens of Kurds from all parts of Kurdistan protested outside the Iranian Embassy in Berlin, calling for an end to injustice and discrimination against Kurds in predominantly Shiite Iran.
