Assad’s forces arrests more young men in rural Damascus for forcible conscription

The Assad regime's security forces arrested nine young men from the western countryside of Damascus, while they were trying to flee towards Lebanese territory to escape compulsory service with the regime army.

According to SY24’s correspondent in Damascus, “The arrests took place last Thursday and Friday, when the regime’s operatives stationed at a checkpoint in the Rankous area in the Damascus countryside arrested six young men on Thursday and three on Friday, with their names being shown [on a searchlist] as all having failed to perform their mandatory service.”

Family identify son among 'Caesar' torture photos

Russia quits UN system aimed at protecting hospitals, aid in Syria

Russia has quit a United Nations arrangement that aimed to protect hospitals and humanitarian aid deliveries in Syria from being hit by the warring parties, according to a UN note to aid groups seen on Thursday.

The Russian move comes after an internal UN inquiry in April found it was “highly probable” that the Syrian regime or its allies carried out attacks on three healthcare facilities, a school and a refuge for children in northwest Syria last year.

10 Syrian Governorates form new union to support political reform

Aerial bombardment of rural areas of As-Suwayda and Deir Ezzor in Syria on Tuesday evening reportedly killed and wounded several Assad regime militiamen.

The regime's ‘SANA’ agency claimed that regime air defenses responded to the planes which carried out the bombing of the militias’ bases.

SANA claimed that the bombardment targeted the Kabbagb area, west of Deir Ezzor and the Al-Sukhna area, in addition to sites near the city of Sallakh, in the south of As-Suwayda.

Revolutionary factions thwarts infiltration attempt by Russian militias on Jabal Zawiya axis in S. Idlib

The National Liberation Front thwarted an infiltration attempt by Russian militias on Saturday night to advance on the axis of Jabal Al-Zawiya in the southern Idlib countryside following hours of heavy fighting.

"The militias tried just after midnight to move towards Benin fields on the eastern axis of the Jabal Zawiya area," a military source in the National Front told Call Syria, adding: "However, our fighters stationed on the axis were able to discover the attempt and repelled the advance groups."

Russia Takes Palmyra Airbase From Assad Regime: Report

Military sources told Zaman al-Wasl that Russia has taken full control of Palmyra Military Airbase in the Syrian desert from regime forces, making it the fifth Russian military base in Syria.

A Russian military delegation took official control of the airport at a meeting with a delegation of Assad regime officials headed by the commander of the 22nd Air Force Brigade, Maj. Gen Tawfiq Muhammad Khaddour in early June. The airport has now been evacuated from all Iranian presence and from all regime-related military and logistical forces, a private source said.
